Sorry about my previous journal entry...I should have changed it through the day as I learned more..but ah well. I feel like I left it stupid sounding...but thank you for the responses. I don't totally hate this new system since it does, in one way or another 'expose' people..I just..dunno. I wish they had come up with some way to expand the popular section. I mean, I really think dA is just too big for "one" section of that kind. Whatever though, I'm not making much sense right now...too tired at this point to care to think much on it... -___-

Oh gosh, it's valentine's day tomorrow! I totally forgot. =_=0 yikes. I wanted to make a valentine's day picture. I have a really cute NaruHina picture in mind *shot by narusaku fans...or narusasu*...do you guys have any couples you really like?

Oh yea, I'm finally making a tutorial since I've had enough people ask at this point..I decided to do it on hair since I've got that the most. I'm just not sure how to start it though. Aah gosh..I feel like I'm just adding my whiny attitude to the actually decent rants that other deviants have made..but my feelings are pretty strong on this. (*nekoni's journal gives some pretty good links to this stuff...[link] If you want more information on what dA's doing...)


Has everyone been noticing this new "Popular" section? I think it's crazy. It doesn't make any sense! The "FairExposure" policy isn't "FairExposure" at all. It's just randomized. Not even truly picked out. From what I've been seeing these past few days, they'll just slap up whatever from their 'blind lottery'. The first day I checked even though I was kinda confused, I was happy in a good way there was literature..but when I clicked on it, it wasn't a decent piece. The person didn't even write it, I recognized it as a myspace chain letter. To me, I think that's not "FairExposure". I like literature on dA, but not that kind. I think it's a slap in the face for people that ACTUALLY write their own pieces. Then like today, I log on to the front page and I see some stick man humping a word that says "Your Mom". Sure, a lot of people find that funny..but heck, at the same time that's pathetic. And offensive. Once again, it was STOLEN! Real freakin' "FairExposure" dA. What a great way for some new comer to be welcomed on the site, huh? That the place is just a muddled piece of crap..despite the fact that there are people that actually work on artwork.
There are people that need to get recognized..but poor art like that doesn't deserve to be on the front page.

It's like dA is going to be damn PHOTOBUCKET now, for goodness sake! This is supposed to be an art community..not a randomized art dump.

Certainly, the "popular" section DID need work at one point. A lot of the time, we'd just see handfuls of the same popular artists..but you know what? They did work to get there. And a lot of the time- they're well deserved art pieces.

Now, you can get some person one the front page on their first deviation alone..compared to someone that has been working for 5 years.

I think dA did need a concept of "FairExposure"..but what they're doing now sure isn't.

I work hard on my pictures. Being popular isn't a really big deal to me. I just like to share my art..and everyone likes to recieve some form of recognition on their artwork that you put time into..But you know, myself..and plenty of other people...are blasted into the oblivion of deviantArt on this system.
Think about it this way:
What are the odds that you'll get on the front page on this 'random' system? Out of how many other members? And out of how many submitted deviants a DAY? Then, between people who are already popular?
Pretty slim.
Not to mention the fact, that I don't submit my art under some 'random' category--like desktop screenshots...to increase my chances of being "noticed" now.

There are plenty of people overlooked..but it's 100xs worse now. Some of those people don't deserve to be on the frontpage. And I don't mean all of these artists on there now--but I'm talking about my example with that myspace chain letter a few days back. If I wanted to read some damn chain letter that the person just copy and pasted--instead of WRITE, I'd go to myspace.

The way I feel about this now..is there's going to be absolutely no feel of achievement under this new system.
With the original "Popular" section..to me, I always felt this was a way for me to try and become a more accomplished artist. I'd see a really good artist's picture, and I'd want to push my self to eventually make work of that caliber. This is just my own outlook and opinion-- but it made me want to improve and be the best artist I could be and get better. That's how I felt.
NOW-What the hell is the point in actually spending time on some picture, when I'm probably not going to be chosen that day? Whatever. I like sharing my art. Why should I improve any if nobody is going to ever see it?
I'm not upset with this affect on myself so much..like I said my popularity isn't something I focus on. The reason I'm ticked off... it's more of the injustice to people I know on here who really, truly deserve to be noticed. I know other drawers,photographers,and writers on here who definitely DON'T get the attention they deserve..and it makes me mad..They need views, not the guy with the stick person on the front page. Gee, I wonder how much work he put into that one- compared to a writer who goes over every word they type ? Or a photographer who works hard to capture a picture with a sense of meaning? Or the drawer, who puts hours of effort into creating a picture.
No, they're just gonna get replaced by the 'stickman'. And with the slim hope of some ridiculous blind lottery.

If dA has the time to totally screw up the "Popular" section..don't you think it'd be a heck of a lot easier to simply make a new section for the front page? If they want a random system, make a random section. Call it "Featured" "FairExposure" WHATEVER. What they're doing now is crippling more people than it is exposing.


I know I'm not making a really great arguement at all...(and there are plenty of people who have made MUCH better points than I have..I feel like a stupid rant-er)...I'm just repeating what tons of people have said already..But please guys, sign this petition if you feel the same way I do, or just don't like this system..or just flat out miss the old system. I hope I'm not offending anyone who likes this new system, I'm not trying to tick you off--I'm just voicing the way I feel about it, which happens to be how a lot of other people feel too. This new system pretty much hurts everybody.
Also, please really read the petition..it offers some really good points and ideas about this whole thing..

ugh...I have the worst head cold in existence. I think I've used up at least 3 boxes of tissues today..-____- i can hardly think straight. plus, i have a fever right now but I just don't feel like crawling back into bed..*sigh*

Hmm..not much else for me to update on...xD School work is keeping me pretty busy..But I finally have art this semseter! I haven't had an art class since...4th grade. xDD lol So I feel like a total loser when I'm trying to figure out how to use clay and stupid stuff..w/e...I'm a 2D person..>__< Not good with 3D. gah.

Dang, it's freezing outside!! D8 I love this time of year, but not the weather darnit! It dropped like..40 degrees in one day. =__= lol My fingers are numb...must keep trying to type...XDD

Aaah gosh. And coming with the new year is: RESOLUTIONS!!! heck yes!! 8D haha. I have plenty, but my one for my art is to keep drawing drawing DRAWING!! because..I most certainly haven't kept up with that last year. >_< Blah. This past year has just been super busy for me...so hopefully it will lighten up this time around! If it doesn't..oh well. I'll just post and draw things anyway.

My dA resolutions:
1) SUBMIT A PICTURE EVERY WEEK!!! or..2 weeks. not every other month! XD
2)find time to answer more all your kind comments!!!! ;___;
3)draw -actual- bgs. because I notice that I really don't. o__o
4)work on collabs, kiribans (i am, but i need to finish them!! i'm sorry all my collab people. TAT i'm an awful person.) and work on my collab devpage ~Twitch-n-Fidget with ~britbratsama (cuz I promised!! WE'VE GOT ONE NEW PICTURE UP!! HAHA! yesh!)
5) try different styles and improve what i've got going!
6) POST SOMETHIN OTHER THAN KINGDOM HEARTS. OMFG.
7)draw original stuff and OCs, instead of just fanart! I'm gonna branch out a bit!
8) start commissions! maybe! and prints.
9) get money to buy a subscription =__= lol!
10) do some gift art for my loverly dA friends!! 8D

Hmm..And I suppose that's it.But of course there's room for plenty more. x3 lol.

Haha wow.

It's been..like 3 months!? xD goodness. And I really don't have much to update with either..bwah. I really need to start making journals more often..or something.

I've decided to have a kiriban at 40,000! (For those of you who don't know what a kiriban is--basically, look at my pageviews--and if you happen to see it's 40,000 while you're there, screencap it or message me!) Remember, you catch it, you get a free picture request by me--whatever you want. Woohoo!

Also, featuring , since she was so kind enough to feature me!! And she's got pretty artwork! And because I said a looonnngg time ago I would feature her. xD lol! I love her coloringz! She makes totally smexy stuff. SO GO SEE THEM!! Planning on doing some more features for peoples too later on! x3 yayness.

*sigh* I feel bad for the lack of updates and that sort of thing..I've just been really busy. School really sucks and I'm really not doing well in it..My grades are not doing good and it's frustrating me..T_T I keep trying to put more efforts into doing better and working harder, I even go to tutoring for most of my classes to try to get better..but I swear my grades are getting worse.. I dunno. It's kinda bumming me out, and I really don't want to get my report card next week...Because I'm sure I'm going to be grounded to hell and back. So I have a feeling that I might not be on dA in a while following my report card..=_=...

AND OMFG.
I lost my tablet.
Not necissarly the tablet, but the freakin pen that comes with it. I've looked EVERYWHERE. All over my house. I haven't seen it in 2 weeks..and I have a feeling my mom probably threw it away not knowing it was. =______= I hate my luck. I swear. So now I'm probably going to have to buy a new one..And I REALLY REALLY suck using a mouse. It takes me 500xs longer to finish stuff..;A; ..aaaaaghhhhh....

Ahh!! OMG! Have you guys heard about all the 3 new KH games!?!? I'm so ecxited! Especially about the Roxas DS game and the PSP one..!
